1. Why are you no longer offering individual sheet music?

It was always our intention to gradually phase out the individual sheet music sales once our songbook was published. It is our hope to encourage singers who have maybe only heard one or two of our songs to familiarize themselves with a wider body of our work. It also cuts down on labor significantly, allowing us more time to do what we love to do…write songs!

2. But Alto's Lament is not in the book.

We hope to have Alto's Lament available as an online download by April 2007. It has been a lengthy process getting all of the permissions for the songs that we quote, but we've finally done it! Please watch the website for updates on this issue, and thank you for your support of the song.

3. I hear tell there is a "Taylor's Response" and "Carol the Stalker Girl" parody of Taylor. Where can I get that?

While we appreciate the homage to our character Taylor the Latte Boy, we had nothing to do with these songs. Performers who procure and perform these songs need to know that they were not authored by us, permissions to exploit our character were not obtained, and the compositions in no way express our original intention for the character. We want to be good sports…but what can we say? As soon as there is an official Zina/Marcy Taylor sequel, it will be offered right here.

4. Emergency! Emergency! I need a fax of Taylor right now!!!

We love the emails we receive from performers all around the country who do our songs in concerts, juries, auditions, etc…and we're no strangers to needing a piece of music yesterday. But due to the volume of requests, we are going to have to hand over overnight songbook requests to our friends at Colony Music. They can fed ex you all things Goldrich and Heisler at www.colonymusic.com.

5. I am using a Goldrich and Heisler composition in a vocal competition, and it needs to be from a show. Which of your compositions are from shows?

Please refer to the website for a list of our compositions and their origins, and feel free to print out the list for any competition officials. A downloadable permissions form will be available shortly. We cannot personally write official permissions letters for every contest - so please refer to individual rules of your contest and make sure Goldrich and Heisler songs are qualifying material.

6. Something is wrong with my computer and somehow online ordering isn't working for me. Do you have a mail-in order form?

Please contact our friends at Colony Music at www.colonymusic.com, or call 212- 265-1260.

7. Your music seems a little expensive compared to other published folios. Why is that?

As of now, we are a two-woman shop, and do our best to provide and distribute our music to the public. In order to make the "boutique" nature of our business cost-effective, we must allow for time/labor/mailing costs. We hope our customers understand this specialized approach, and appreciate our efforts to get the material out to you.

8. Can I email a sheet music/demo request to you?

We only deal with INFORMATION over email requests. We do not ship any music unless we have an order online. We have this policy because often requests change or people add things onto their orders, and then we have to ship twice. We want to get you what you need, but we need writing time too!

9. What if the sheet music is not in my appropriate key? Do you provide transpositions?

As of now, and as a rule, we do not offer personal transposition services for our music. There are male and female versions of "That's All" available. Otherwise, we trust your musical directors to provide you with appropriate keys. If you would like more information regarding this policy, please contact Zina at zina@goldrichandheisler.com

10. What if my friends request copies of the music?

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DON'T DUPE OR DUB. The Marcy and Zina company is a very small, personal organization that depends on revenues incurred from the purchase and performance of our music. We love it if you have friends that inquire about our music, but we ask that you do not duplicate it or dub it. Please refer people to this website. While the lost revenue may seem small, it adds up significantly to us.

11. Can I put a Goldrich & Heisler tune on the CD I'm recording?

If you would like to record a Goldrich and Heisler song, you must receive permission. Please contact The Harry Fox Agency, Inc. to obtain a mechanical license. Requests can be made by calling 212-370-5530 or faxing 212-953-2384.

12. What if I would like to perform Taylor the Latte Boy in my school recital/cabaret/concert/local bar/live venue of choice?
